Been totally off Cigarettes for 3 years now. I find the smell of cigarettes now repulsive and love my e-cig. It was trial and error at first to find one that had a good enough battery to last a day and I have tried numerous liquids until I found the ones I really like. I am still concerned a little that I have an addiction albeit safer in many ways than conventional cigarettes. I do feel there needs to be legislation because the dangers of leaving e liquid around pets, kids, etc are not documented well enough in the public domain. Again I found these out myself over time. Plus added none of us actually know what we are vaping? The fact we are told by some retailer who is in turn told by their Chinese exporter that the product is of good quality does not necessarily mean it is. We are so desperate to believe that something we enjoy doing is safe that we hoodwink ourselves. That said i am over the moon that I have broken the cycle of smoking conventional cigarettes. Overall i do feel a lot healthier.

I am 50 yo and have been a pack a day smoker since I was 16 yo. I started on the e cig (Joye eGo) 2 weeks ago and have not touched a cigarette since. It is amazing and so much cheaper. Kudos to the persons who invented these. It will save so many lives. My husband started on the e cig a few days after me and is no longer smoking cigarettes as well. Our home and we smell better, no 2nd hand cigarette smoke complaints from our grown kids. Life is Great!!!

I have to say, I am 30 years old, my husband is 38, he has been smoking alot longer than me, I have been a smoker for 11 years, we purchased the Green smoke electronic cigarettes, and love them. We have a 3 year old little girl, and I want her to have her mommy and daddy for a long time. So many times we have tried to quit with the patches, gum, lozenges, cold turkey, you name it. If this is the way to do it, I'll take it :) I love the Idea that you can step down your nicotene little by little. I would recomend them to anyone that has tried to quit or really wants to quit. I don't feel guilty anymore. Everyone who is using them, I give all my love to you and wish everyone luck with them :) Happy e-smoking!!!!

I don't know, I hesitated because you never know what will come out years later about how bad these things were. BUT, husband bought me one for a long road trip.....to have a few drags before retiring, and not worry about second hand smoke, or the bed catching fire from a dropped cherry, or the ash, the butts.....hey, so far it's great. Got a little head rush in the beginning, and they are much heavier....but so far, I only use a few regular cigs throughout the day. I have a feeling that as I am grossed out more and more with the ash and butt scenario, I could easily be using these alone. The price difference is amazing.
Yes, you could smoke more, but I find I puff less, as I'm not forcing myself to finish an entire cigarette so as to not waste the money spent on an entire pack.

I just smoke what I need.
That's a good thing for me, as I used to be a two pack a day smoker.
AND, maybe I won't smell like cigs eventually.

IF I find out years from now that they really were bad, oh well. I lived in three different cities that were nuclear reactors, and have been surrounded by professional crops using insecticides. What really am I avoiding?

I have tried the premium e-cigarette and was terribly disappointed. Because the nearesttobacco shop only carries this one brand and I had developed asthma and needed to quit smoking, I kept buying them. The taste was excellent, but I seldom got the 3 pack equivalent the brand boasted.
The store was fine with exchanging them until recently; I think they believe I am lying. Having work in quality control I set up my own experiment. I carefully counted the number of puffs on 20 cigarettes and the average number of puffs was only 227 - far lower than the 800 puffs the manufacturer boasted.

I am ordering a starter kit online in hopes a system with liquid nicotine will do better. I am not sure but I think the problem with the disposal is the battery stops heating. The last one I bought did not deliver even one puff!

Hey Ted,
You probably got this figured out by now but the best "tool" I have found to get the lids off is an inflation needle like for basketballs, etc. Put the needle end in the hole and pry it against a couple of the sides. It also keeps the white cap and the clear o-ring from flying off into oblivion when they break loose.

I was a smoker for 30 years ( 3 packs a day) I tried everything to quit and nothing worked, except this e-cig. I can say it really helped me quit smoking. It will be 1 year on January 8, 2012. I feel so much better now.

I am 63 years old, and had been smoking since I was 15. My mother passed away last summer, and I vowed after watching her struggle with enphysema, COPD, etc., that I would quit smoking. As of 1 September 2011, I have been cigarette free. After a couple of weeks, I started using the ecig, and have been using it ever since. I no longer crave cigarettes at all. The only drawback is because it is so accessible, unless I put it out on the back porch and only smoke it out there, I seem to be using it too much.

Ted,
The newer carts are difficult to get the caps off. I use the metal loop off a binder clip to pull mine off. You need to pull fairly hard and work it off side-to-side.
